How to list on Vinted where price is the whole conversation
Vinted is bargain-first: buyers search, filter by brand and size, and send an offer before they say hello. Sellers pay nothing — no commission, no processing cut, no listing fee — so the entire question is what your item can fetch in a market where everyone undercuts. Fill every field, price low enough to attract offers, and answer fast.
Create the listing
- Open the form. In the app tap Sell; on the web go to Items → Add. Photos come first in the flow.
- Cover photo. Item filling the frame, plain background, daylight. Vinted's grid crops to a tall card, so keep the item centred with nothing important at the edges.
- Title (100 characters). Brand + item type + the detail + size: Zara Black Satin Midi Skirt Size M. Use every character you need — a title with no brand and no size does not appear in a filtered search.
- Description. Condition in plain words, then named flaws with a photo reference, then fit, material, measurements, and anything a buyer would ask (smoke-free, where it came from). Keep it readable on a phone.
- Category, brand, size, colour. Structured fields that drive Vinted's filters. Choose the brand from Vinted's list — Vinted's catalogue rules require the brand field to match the item, and unrelated brand names in the text can get a listing hidden.
- Condition. Pick the grade Vinted offers (new with tags down to satisfactory) and then explain it in the text. "Good" means something different to every buyer; "worn twice, no holes or stains" does not.
- Price. Price low enough to survive an offer. Buyers here expect to negotiate, so set the number above what you would actually take and answer with a counter.
- Shipping. Choose which shipping providers you make available to buyers. Then publish.
The 100-character title and how Vinted search reads it
| Part of the listing | What Vinted does with it |
|---|---|
| Title (100 chars) | Primary keyword match, and the text shown in search results. Front-load brand and item type — that is what a buyer types. |
| Brand / size / condition | Structured filters that Vinted cross-references against the title. A search for "Nike Air Max size 8" only returns listings that also filled in those fields. |
| Category | Puts the item in browse and in the filter buyers scroll by. |
| Description | Secondary match, plus it carries measurements and the flaw notes. |
| Price, offers, activity | Buyers sort by price and by newest. An unanswered offer usually buys somewhere else within the hour. |
Title formula: [Brand] [Item type] [Colour or detail] [Size]
Example: Nike Air Force 1 White EU 42 — Like New — 39 of the 100 characters used, every word searchable.
What Vinted charges
| Fee concept | How it works |
|---|---|
| Seller fee | 0% — no commission, no final value fee, no seller-side processing cut. The price you set is the price you are paid. |
| Listing | Free — no listing fee, no monthly fee. |
| Buyer protection | Paid by the buyer: Vinted's transaction fee is charged to the buyer at checkout, not deducted from your payout. |
| Shipping | Paid by the buyer: they pick and pay for the provider at checkout, and you get a prepaid label. |
| Promotion | Optional and extra. Paid visibility boosts sit on top of a zero-fee sale — leave them off until the base listing is converting. |
Zero per cent is why Vinted wins the take-home comparison on almost every price — but zero per cent of a bargain price is still a bargain price. Compare shops before you decide where an item goes: this page's model is the approximate one this repo publishes at /api/marketplaces.
Photos on Vinted
- Cover: the item alone, centred, filling the frame, on a plain surface in daylight.
- Shot order: cover, back, label/brand tag, fabric or hardware detail, flaws, measurements.
- One photo per flaw. Vinted buyers return over things they were not shown, and a named flaw with a photo is a defence, not a deterrent.
- Match the condition field to the pictures — a "very good" grade over photos of visible wear is how you lose a case.
- No stock images for used items, no watermarks or text overlays, no borrowed brand imagery.
Shipping on Vinted
- The buyer pays for shipping and chooses the provider at checkout. You decide which providers you make available when you list.
- After a sale Vinted sends a prepaid label (or a label code) to your email and your Vinted inbox, with the drop-off instructions for it.
- Ship within the deadline shown on the order. Vinted cancels and refunds orders that miss it, and a cancellation costs you the sale you already had.
- Pack to the parcel size you selected. An oversized parcel rejected at drop-off is a cancelled order, not a delay.
- Ship with the provider the buyer chose. Vinted cannot track a parcel sent any other way, and switching it after the sale is not allowed.
- Leave feedback promptly — it is what the next buyer reads before sending an offer.

Common Vinted mistakes
- Title with no brand and no size, so filtered searches never surface it.
- Condition grade chosen to flatter the item, then contradicted by the photos.
- Ignoring or slow-rolling offers — on Vinted the offer is the start of the sale.
- Pricing at the top of the comp range on a platform whose buyers are explicitly there for a bargain.
- Unrelated brand names or hashtag walls in the description. Vinted's catalogue rules say listings can be hidden for it.
- One bundle listing for two separate items, or the same item listed twice — also against the catalogue rules.
- Missing the shipping deadline and losing the order automatically.
- Skipping measurements, so fit questions turn into returns.
One-tap copy: paste into Vinted
Edit in place, tap Copy, paste into Vinted's item form. The counter tracks the 100-character title limit. Worked example for a pair of trainers — swap in your brand, size, measurements and flaws.
These links go to Vinted's own web form — this guide does not claim a Vinted app deep-link scheme it has not verified. The copy buttons work either way: copy, then paste into the app or the web form.
