How to list on Grailed so designer and streetwear buyers find it

Grailed is designer, streetwear and hype menswear, and its buyers know exactly what they want: they filter by designer, then by size, then scroll sold comps before they make an offer. The listing form is built around that — the designer field and the measurements matter more than adjectives. Price to what the same piece has actually sold for, then be ready to counter.

Create the listing

  1. Open the form. Sign in at grailed.com and open Sell, or use the sell button in the Grailed app. Fill in your address once — Grailed needs it to generate labels.
  2. Photos. Cover shot with the item filling the frame, then back, the label and its washing tags, fabric or hardware detail, measurements on a tape, and every flaw.
  3. Title. Designer + garment + model or style + colour + size: Rick Owens Geobasket High Top Black Size 43. The buyers searching here type brand names and style names, so those go first.
  4. Description. Condition, then exact measurements (pit-to-pit, back length, waist flat, sleeve, inseam — whatever fits the garment), then named flaws, then where it was bought and why it is going.
  5. Category. Choose the garment type Grailed groups by (tops, outerwear, bottoms, footwear, accessories) and narrow from there. Wrong category means the wrong filter results.
  6. Designer. The single most important field: Grailed buyers browse by designer, and a listing with only the brand in the title never reaches them. Pick it from the list.
  7. Size, condition, colour. Structured filters. Use the designer's own sizing convention and repeat the size in the title, because buyers search all three ways.
  8. Listing tags. Add the searchable terms the title cannot hold — style era, silhouette, collaboration, fit reference.
  9. Price, then publish. Set it near recent sold comps with room to counter, choose who pays shipping, and publish. Answer offers the same day.

Title, and how Grailed search reads a listing

Part of the listingWhat Grailed does with it
TitlePrimary keyword match and the text in search results. Designer, garment, style name and size first — adjectives last.
Designer fieldThe main browse path. Buyers start at a designer, filter to their size, and never see a listing that left the field blank.
Category / size / condition / colourStructured filters that narrow the grid. Blank values drop you out of them.
Listing tagsExtra searchable terms beyond the title — era, silhouette, collaboration, fit.
Description and measurementsSecondary match, and the part that decides whether an offer arrives or a return does.
Price and offer activityBuyers compare against sold comps. A listing that answers offers stays visible; one that ignores them goes stale.

Grailed does not publish a hard character count for the title, so this guide works to about 80 characters as a rule of thumb: designer, garment, style, colour, size. The copy block below counts characters without pretending to be a platform limit.

What Grailed charges

Fee conceptRateHow it works
Seller commission9%Charged on sales of $120 and above. Grailed applies a reduced 6% commission (with a minimum) on sales under $120 — check your payout screen, the threshold is the number that matters.
Payment processing3.49% + $0.49Added to the commission on a domestic sale through Grailed Payments. International transactions carry a higher processing rate.
ListingFreeNo listing fee and no monthly fee.
ShippingBuyer or sellerYou choose who pays. Free domestic shipping is a common way to win an offer-heavy market — build it into the price.
PayoutAfter the saleReleased through Grailed's payment flow once the order completes; the app shows the status.

Commission and processing stack, so a $120 sale does not pay 9% — it pays 9% plus the processing charge on top. Run the real number through the fee calculator in the app before you commit to a price: this page's model is the approximate one this repo publishes at /api/marketplaces, not a live quote from Grailed.

Photos on Grailed

  • Cover: the garment alone, centred, filling the frame, plain background. Grailed's grid is image-led and crops hard.
  • Then: back, the label and washing tags (this is what answers "is it real?"), fabric or hardware close-up, flaws, and a tape measure across the flat garment.
  • Measurements as photos, not just text — this audience checks pit-to-pit and back length before they offer.
  • Daylight and no filters. Colour disputes are the most common return on a platform where the item is often a specific seasonal colourway.
  • Shoot your own copy. Reused brand or stock imagery on a used item is what gets listings removed.

Shipping on Grailed

  1. Decide who pays shipping when you list: buyer pays, or you offer free shipping and build the cost into the price.
  2. For eligible domestic US orders, Grailed generates a prepaid Grailed Label at a discounted rate — you do not have to guess the weight yourself.
  3. If either you or the buyer is outside the US, you buy your own label and handle it yourself. Set the international shipping price deliberately rather than leaving it to chance.
  4. Pack for the item: box for shoes, bags and anything that must not be crushed; poly mailer for soft goods. Cover every old barcode before you stick the new label on.
  5. Ship within the window Grailed shows on the order. Late dispatch is the fastest way to lose a buyer who already paid.
  6. Tracking through the platform counts as dispatched and protects you against a non-receipt claim.

Common Grailed mistakes

  • Leaving the designer field empty and typing the brand only in the title — you vanish from the main way these buyers browse.
  • No measurements in the description or on a tape photo, so the offer never comes and the return does.
  • Priced from the original retail or from asking prices instead of recent sold comps.
  • Declining every offer instead of countering. A counter usually sells; a decline loses the buyer.
  • Listing womenswear or non-fashion items — Grailed's audience is designer and streetwear menswear, and the wrong audience is no audience.
  • Wrong category, so the item appears in filters where it looks out of place and gets scrolled past.
  • Ignoring the international rule: a US-to-US order must use Grailed's label flow, not a label you bought yourself.
  • Photos that hide the flaw buyers care about — pilling, cracking print, sole wear. Show it; they buy anyway when it is priced honestly.

One-tap copy: paste into Grailed

Edit in place, tap Copy, paste into Grailed's sell form. The title counter shows characters only — Grailed does not publish a hard limit, so treat 80 as this guide's rule of thumb. Worked example for a pair of designer high-tops — swap in your brand, size, measurements and flaws.
