Measure Late In The Day
Feet can swell through the day, so measure or try shoes when your feet are closer to their largest normal size. Check length, width, toe shape, and heel hold. A shoe that technically fits in length can still fail if the toe box is wrong for your foot shape.
Read The Shape
Pointed toes, narrow straps, and shallow uppers often feel tighter than rounded toes, adjustable straps, and deeper uppers. If you are between sizes, the construction matters as much as the number. Adjustable buckles, elastic panels, and padded backs can make a pair more forgiving.
Break Shoes In Gradually
Wear new shoes at home first, then for a short errand before a full day. Watch for rubbing at the heel, top of the toes, and strap edges. If a shoe hurts within five minutes, it is unlikely to become comfortable enough for a long event.
Store By Material
Keep embellished sandals and soft uppers away from heavy boots. Wipe soles after wet days, air shoes before storing, and use dust bags for pairs with satin, metallic, pearl, rhinestone, or woven details. Basic care protects the look and helps the shape last.
